CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON RESIDENTIAL COLLEGES CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., March 29 -- Faculty and students from universities across the nation will discuss residential college living at a March 30-April 1 conference at the University of Virginia. The third annual Conference on Residential Colleges and Living Learning Centers will take place in Zehmer Hall, where participants will discuss factors contributing to successful common living experiences such as faculty-student interactions. Mark Schwen, author of Exiles from Eden, will give the keynote address on Saturday, March 31, at approximately 8 p.m. in the RotundaÕs Dome Room. At the conference, sponsored by the Organization of Residential College Administrators, U.Va. representatives will describe the roles of faculty and the importance of physical settings in establishing common living areas. U.Va. has been a leader in developing residential colleges, conference coordinator Tim Pittman noted.
