COMMUNITY DISCUSSION APRIL 2 WILL FOCUS ON PROBLEMS ENDANGERING YOUNG AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEN CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., March 24 -- Violence and other social ills endangering young African-American men will be the focus of a videoconference titled "The Vanishing Black Male: Saving Our Sons," on Sunday, April 2, at the University of Virginia. A panel of community members and U.Va. students and faculty will discuss the problem and potential solutions after the showing of a nationally acclaimed videotape produced by Black Issues in Higher Education. Panel members include Lewis Anderson, Edward Trusty, Vincent Harris, Courtland Lee and Paula McClain. Scheduled for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Newcomb Hall Theater, the conference is free and open to the public.
