SEMINAR TO EXPLORE PARTNERSHIPS IN ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., March 2 -- Exploring partnerships in electronic publishing will be the focus of the University of Virginia's second annual national seminar on electronic media March 14-16 in Washington, D.C. Co-sponsored by the Library of Congress, the conference will be held at both the ANA Hotel, 2401 M St., N.W., and the Library of Congress, 101 Independence Ave., S.E. The seminar, an offering of U.Va.'s publishing and communications program, is for book, journal and other publishers interested in expanding into multimedia and online publication. The conference will explore options involved in partnerships extending beyond formal mergers -- from project-to-project relationships between content providers and multimedia developers, to cross-marketing and related copyright, financial and legal issues arising from such partnerships. James H. Billington, the Librarian of Congress, will deliver the keynote address on "The Future of Electronic Publishing." ### March 1, 1996 For registration information call (800) 346-3882 or contact Beverly Jane Loo at (804) 296 4806 or e-mail bjl2m@virginia.edu.
