SECOND ANNUAL CURRY SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL TO FOCUS ON AFRICAN-AMERICAN FAMILY CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., March 19 -- "The African-American Family, Love and Learning: A Celebration in Films" will be the theme of the Second Annual Curry School Film Festival to be held March 21, 22 and 23 at the University of Virginia. The focus of the festival is to explore critical developmental themes of education and family and their importance to African Americans. Danny Glover will be a special guest at the screening of "To Sleep with Anger" at 3 p.m. Friday, March 22, in Ruffner Hall. The highlight of the festival will be special guests Glover and Felix Justice performing interpretations from Langston Hughes' poetry and speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday, March 22, at 7 p.m. at the Charlottesville Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are free of charge to U.Va. students with a valid ID and $7 to the general public and are available in advance at Peabody Hall or the Forestry Building as well as at the door beginning at 5:15 p.m. The festival is sponsored by University Union in cooperation with the Luther P.
