SEMINAR TO EXPLORE OPTIONS IN ELECTRONIC PUBLISHING CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., March 28 -- Exploring the present and future of electronic publishing is the focus of a national electronic publishing seminar April 10-12 at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. The conference will explore the issue of copyright protection on-line, designing Web sites, marketing and distributing on-line and the future of commerce. Fred Ciporen, vice president and group publisher of Publishers Weekly, will give the keynote address on "The State of the Industry: Retailing, Special Markets, Distribution and the Internet." The speech will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, at the Library of Congress at 101 Independence Ave., S.E. Co-sponsored by the University of Virginia and the Library of Congress, the seminar is intended for book, journal and other publishers who are involved in or considering a move into the fields of multimedia and/or on-line publishing.
