THE U.VA. TRADITION LIVES ON ** When Lisa A. Gulley earns her degrees May 21, she will be the seventh of seven siblings to earn a U.Va. degree. Brother Robert Gulley was the first to graduate from U.Va. in 1982. Soon followed Patricia in 1983, Terry in 1985, Jim in 1986, Steve in 1987 and Debra in 1988. "I don't think I could have gone anywhere else but U.Va.," said Gulley, who will earn a bachelor's degree in Spanish and a master's degree in education through the Curry School of Education's five-year teacher-education program. "I don't think I would have belonged anywhere else either," she added. The daughter of Leo and Patricia Gulley of OAKTON, VA, who are not U.Va. graduates, the family has gained some additional Wahoos in recent years. "Two of my sisters and one brother married Wahoos," Gulley said. For more information on the Gulley alumni reunion at graduation, contact her at (804) 984-2617. ** John Meade, the third of three brothers to graduate from U.Va., has some inkling of how he'll get along with his office mate in his new job. When he starts his position with Martin Marietta, his office mate will be his older brother, Chris. John's oldest brother Paul graduated in 1989 with a bachelor's in archaeology. Brother Christopher graduated in 1994 with a bachelor's in computer science. With his new bachelor's in applied mathematics from the School of Engineering and Applied Science, John is looking forward to working for the Reston, VA-based defense contractor. The office dynamics of the two brothers should prove interesting. "We approach things from totally different points of view, but usually arrive at the same conclusions," he said. Son of Patrick J. and Theresa H. Meade of CLIFTON, VA, John Meade can be reached at (804) 243-1031. May 4, 1995
