FAMILIAR FACES

     Dr. Neal F. Kassell, vice chairman of the Department of Neurological 
Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, was awarded the 
1996 Grass Prize by the Society of Neurological Surgeons. The prize, which 
is awarded to a neurosurgeon who has demonstrated outstanding, continuous 
commitment to research in the neurosciences, will be presented at the 
society's annual meeting on Tuesday, May 14 in Chicago.
