F-16 FLY-BY SLATED FOR ROTC OBSERVANCE OF VETERANS DAY CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 5 -- Four F-16 fighter jets will streak over the Rotunda as part of Veterans Day observances organized by the University of VirginiaÕs Reserve Officer Training Corps units. Army, Navy and Air Force ROTC units will assemble in formation on the University Avenue side of the Rotunda at 4 p.m. Nov. 10 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of World War II. Norman E. Graebner, a retired U.Va. professor of diplomatic history, will speak. A flag retreat (a formal lowering and folding of the U.S. flag) will follow and ceremonies will conclude with the fly-by of jets from the Virginia Air National Guard at approximately 4:20 p.m. In remembrance of AmericaÕs POWs and MIAs, rotating pairs of cadets will march silently on the McIntire Ampitheatre stage from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. ### November 4, 1994
