LOCAL ARTIST'S WORK TO BE DISPLAYED AT FAYERWEATHER ART GALLERY CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 2 -- Artist Pam Black will present a selection of her unusual cloth creations at the University of Virginia's Fayerweather Art Gallery Nov. 8 through Dec. 4. An opening reception will be held at the Fayerweather Gallery on Friday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. "In my current work, I rely solely on creating impressions of clothing to convey feelings that are both personal and universal," Black says. "This involves consciously choosing articles of clothing that I have worn frequently because they are comfortable, functional and reflect my own personal style." Black immerses clothing in powdered charcoal or pigment to "print" them onto paper. Fayerweather Gallery, located near the intersection of Rugby Road and University Avenue, is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
