PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT Poet and editor David Lehman will read from his poetry on Monday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. in the University of Virginia Bookstore. Lehman's most recent collection, "Valentine Place," has just appeared from Scribner's, and he is the author of more than 10 other books of poetry and criticism. He has been the editor of "The Best American Poetry" series since 1988, and is also the editor of the acclaimed "Poets on Poetry" series from the University of Michigan Press. He is the recipient of many honors, including awards from the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest foundation, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Ingram Merrill Foundation. He teaches at Columbia University and Bennington College. The reading, sponsored by the U.Va. Creative Writing Program and English department, is free and open to the public.
