MEDIA ADVISORY WILLIAMSBURG WORKSHOP TO FOCUS ON IMPLEMENTING NEW STANDARDS FOR VIRGINIA'S SCHOOLS A workshop for public school officials in Williamsburg on November 20 will address issues related to the implementation of new accreditation standards in Virginia middle and high schools. The one-day program at the Fort Magruder Inn is expected to draw school principals, superintendents and leaders from throughout the state. The workshop, "Meeting the New Accreditation Standards in Middle Schools and High Schools," will offer guidance to Virginia's school leaders on such issues as scheduling to meet the new standards, special required accommodations, adjusting course content, and the division and school level planning these changes will require. Presenters will include Virginia Department of Education officials, principals, assistant superintendents, and educational specialists from various regions of the state. The event is sponsored by the University of Virginia's Division of Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Education.
