CEO WILL OFFER CASE STUDY ON REGIONAL INVESTMENT BANKING

       CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 27 -- Thomas A. James, the chairman
and chief executive officer of Raymond James Financial, Inc., will
describe managing growth in the securities industry during a talk
Monday, Nov. 1, at 1:10 p.m. in Room 210 of the University of
Virginia's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.                
            
       James is a member and past chairman of the Securities Industry
Association board.
       Raymond James Financial, based in St. Petersburg, FL, is the
largest regional brokerage firm in the Southeast and has
consistently performed above the securities industry's profit
margin average.
       James' talk, which is open to the public, is part of the
annual speakers series sponsored by the Business Forum, a Darden
student organization.
