93-10-29 U.Va. Doctor to Talk About Volunteer Work in Bosnia U.VA. DOCTOR TO TALK ABOUT VOLUNTEER WORK IN BOSNIA CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 29 -- Charles Hobson, M.D., a former surgical resident at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, will speak on his experiences as a volunteer medical trainer in war-torn Bosnia Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1993, in Wilson Hall, Room 301, at U.Va. from 7:30 to 9 p.m. His talk, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the University's Center for Russian and East European Studies and the independent group, Women United Against Violence in Bosnia. Dr. Hobson, who completed his surgical training in June, spent three months in Sarajevo and Zenica, about 80 kilometers from the capital, with a small international medical corps of eight to 13 health professionals teaching treatment for trauma in hospitals.
