PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT CHARLOTTESVILLE AUTHORS TO COMBAT HUNGER Local authors will share their works as part of a hunger benefit called "Writer's Harvest: The National Reading." The event will be Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the University of Virginia's Newcomb Hall Theater. Sponsored by the U.Va. bookstore, the readings are part of a benefit for Share Our Strength, a national organization that works to alleviate hunger. U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove, poet Charles Wright and novelists Rita Mae Brown and Mary Lee Settle are some of the authors who will read selections from their works. The minimum suggested donation is $5, and all proceeds will go to the Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank.
