RELEASE ON RECEIPT CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., Oct. 20--Kristine M. Gebbie will discuss "Lessons for Nursing from the HIV Epidemic," at the 1995 Zula Mae Baber Bice Memorial Lecture at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. The lecture is free and open to the public. Gebbie is the Elizabeth Standish Gill Assistant Professor of Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing. She was the nation's first AIDS policy coordinator appointed by President Bill Clinton to oversee the HIV and AIDS agenda in research, services and prevention. At Columbia, Gebbie's teaching and research focuses on health policy and health services. Gebbie received her nursing degree from St. Olaf College in Minnesota, a master's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and a doctorate in public health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. U.Va.'s School of Nursing and the Nursing Alumni Association will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bice lecture, which recognizes Mrs. Bice's many professional contributions to the University. ### October 20, 1995
