PANEL TO ADDRESS ISSUES RAISED BY O.J. CASE CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 17 -- "O.J. Simpson: Race, Gender and Justice" will be addressed during a panel discussion Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 147 of Clark Hall at the University of Virginia. Ann J. Lane, director of U.Va.'s women's studies program, will moderate the discussion of panelists, who represent diverse opinions on the trial. Among the panelists are Julian Bond, former civil rights activist and historian; Anne Coughlin, a visiting professor of law whose specialty is domestic violence litigation; Paula McClain, chair of the government and foreign affairs department who researches the interplay of race and politics, and Bernard Mayes, director of U.Va.'s media studies program. Other panelists will include Ellen Contini-Morava, chair of the linguistics programs; William Harmon, vice president of student affairs; Eric Lott, assistant professor of English; and Michele Mitchell, a research fellow at the Carter G.
