FREE WORKSHOPS TO ASSIST ADULTS PURSUING HIGHER EDUCATION CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 10 -- Area residents can learn how to enroll in University of Virginia courses by attending free, informal workshops this fall. The workshops, which will describe the Citizen Scholar Program in U.Va.'s Division of Continuing Education, will be held at 12 noon on Oct. 14 and Nov. 2 and at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 in Room F at the Zehmer Hall Conference Center, 104 Milmont Lane. The Citizen Scholar Program allows adults to enroll part-time in courses offered by most schools at the University. Students who enroll in the program usually have completed either a bachelorÕs degree from an accredited institution or two full years of college coursework. ÒAlthough the program does not grant degrees, Citizen Scholars can achieve professional and personal goals by taking courses in a variety of subjects,Ó said Carole McIvor, coordinator of the program. The workshops will give prospective students an overview of how to enroll in credit classes on-Grounds and present information about other resources for adults at U.Va. ### October 9, 1996 For more information, contact Carole McIvor at (804) 982-5313.
