WTJU'S "WRITER'S CORNER" FEATURES THREE LOCAL WRITERS THIS FALL CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Oct. 9 -- The work of three local writers will be featured this fall on WTJU's Writer's Corner. Kathleen Ford, co-host of the program, interviews William Lee Miller, whose book, "Arguing About Slavery, The Great Battle in the United States Congress," was published this year by Knopf. That program will air from 4:30 - 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Miller is the Thomas C. Sorensen Professor of Political and Social Thought at the University of Virginia. Matt Jones' new novel, "A Single Shot," will be the focus of the Oct. 26 edition of the Writer's Corner. Jones' previous book was "The Elements of Hitting." For the Nov. 2 show, Mariflo Stephens interviews Katherine Alford, whose Little City Books launched "Home Again, Home Again," a children's book with pictures by Anna Galloway. Alford's Little City Books joined Stephens' Northwood Press and Brian Kelly's Montpelier Publishing as Charlottesville's third independent publishing venture.
