The official grand opening ceremony is set to begin at 7 p.m., with tours scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The McCue Center is located next to University Hall on Massie Road. The McCue Center, which was opened in 1991, houses football coaches' and academic support staff offices and conference rooms; sports medicine and strength and conditioning staff offices; a 7,000-square-foot athletic training room; an 8,000-square-foot weight room; and a spacious football locker room facility that leads onto U.Va.'s football practice field area. The weight room and football locker room were named the best in the nation by Sports Illustrated in its 1992 college football preview edition. The third floor of the center had been left unfinished until now to allow for future growth. The McCue Center, which was funded by more than 600 private financial contributors, was named in honor of U.Va. team physician Dr. Frank C. McCue III. McCue is in his 36th year of treating Virginia athletes and is one of the nation's leading orthopaedic surgeons. ### October 23, 1997 For more information on the open house, call (804) 924-6189.
