PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT


	RICHARD BAUSCH TO READ FROM NEW NOVEL AT U.VA.

	Award-winning novelist and short story writer Richard Bausch
will read from his recently released novel, "Good Evening Mr. & Mrs.
America, And All the Ships at Sea" on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m.
in the University of Virginia Bookstore.  A book-signing will follow
the reading.

	Bausch has garnered widespread acclaim for his fiction,
winning, among others, an O. Henry Prize, the Lila Wallace-Reader's
Digest Award, and an award in literature from the American Academy
of Arts and Letters.  Bausch's sixth novel, "Good Evening Mr. & Mrs.
America, and All the Ships at Sea" is an astute, moving, and, at
times, hilarious coming-of-age tale that pits one man's optimism and
ambition against the changing tide of American history.
