The University of Virginia offers more than 2,500 courses every year, and we welcome visitors to take the opportunity to visit a few of them. Below is a link to open classes - those in which professors have invited prospective students to attend. Feel free to browse through this list and select a course or two to attend when visiting, and also keep these things in mind:
- Because entering and exiting a class can be disruptive, we ask all visitors to arrive a few minutes before the class begins and remain until the class ends. Also note that in a few classes, there are specified dates when you asked not to attend. These dates usually coincide with mid-term exams.
- Please be aware that some of the times listed are in twenty-four hour time.
- For help in locating a specific building where the class is held, please see the webmap (Offsite).
- No reservations are required for these classes. Freely attend the ones you find on the list.
- The Course Offering Directory (Offsite) lists all of the courses currently offered this semester. To attend a class which is offered but not included on the open class list below, please contact that professor directly and request permission to attend.
- The following links will enable you to download an Excel spreadsheet of courses offering open visitation throughout the Spring 2008 semester and are separated by day of the week: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
