Through
a new approach in which cultural exchange and diversity play a main
role, the University of Virginia is expanding its opportunities
for students. The experiences shared in this collection of essays
demonstrate the university's commitment to expand education beyond
the classroom. This newsletter itself is an example in and of itself
of what students can achieve through their own initiative and the
support of faculty. We would like to thank William Quandt, Parke
Muth, Victoria Muradi, and Marjorie Schiff for their help.
In this first edition we have included articles written by UVA students
who share their experiences about studying abroad, founding their
own organizations, creating and organizing events, and about what
life in Charlottesville is like.
We hope this newsletter gives you a better idea of what a wonderful
place the University of Virginia is. We hope to transmit to you
the exciting world that UVA offers.
