What are classes like?

As any University of Virginia student can tell you, no two classes are exactly alike. They can vary widely, depending on the subject level and course level. Introductory English writing and foreign language courses are small, usually not more than 20–25 students. Large lecture classes, which include some of the most popular courses on Grounds, typically have small discussion sections which meet once a week to supplement what students learn during lectures.
