COLUMBARIUM
The Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia in 1987 approved establishment of the University Columbarium and set forth eligibility criteria. The Columbarium was designed by Mr. Jack Rinehart, Jr., as a memorial wall of 360 vaults forming three rows. The wall traverses the northern boundary of the new University Cemetery. Each vault
is designed to house a maximum of four urns. The front face of the
Columbarium is composed of vertical granite panels for memorial inscriptions. |
