Thomas Jefferson Award Committee
Charge
The Thomas Jefferson Award Committee shall be responsible for soliciting nominations for the award and selecting a recipient each year. The award consists of a citation and a cash prize supported by an endowment established in 1955 by the Robert Earll McConnell Foundation. The award shall be presented by the President at Fall Convocation, to a member of the faculty who has exemplified in character, work, and influence the principles and ideals of Thomas Jefferson, and thus has advanced the objectives for which Jefferson founded the University.
Committee Structure:
The Committee shall be comprised of:
- 10 faculty/staff members including the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer or designee
- Three student members including the Fourth Year Class President, Honor Committee Chair, and Student Council President
