Calendar Committee

Committee Reporting Relationship

The Committee reports to the Executive Vice President and Provost.

Charge

Under the Executive Vice President and Provost's direction, the Calendar Committee prepares and recommends to the President the University's comprehensive academic calendar, and as requested advises the President on calendar issues.

Committee Structure

The Executive Vice President and Provost chairs, and appoints the following members to, the committee:

  • Associate Provost for Academic Support and Classroom Management
  • Dean of Admissions
  • Director of Summer and Special Academic Programs
  • Employee Councils/Classified Staff Representative
  • Faculty Senate Representative
  • Representative from the Office of the President
  • Representatives of:
    • Academic deans (3 representatives)
    • University's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
    • Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
    • Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer
  • University Registrar
  • UVaFamilies Board Chair (parent representative)
Two at-large student members serve on the Council (one undergraduate student, one graduate student).
