Master Planning Council
Charge
The Master Planning Council shall advise the President and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, through the Architect for the University, on mid-term and long-term physical planning for the University of Virginia. It shall review and comment on the Grounds Plan and overall land use planning as to the best utilization of the existing buildings, landscape, and infrastructure, as well as participate as general stakeholders in the development of precinct/area plans and general infrastructure plans, including those for circulation and parking.
Committee Structure:
The Architect for the University shall chair the Council. The Council shall be comprised of:
- Architect for the University (Executive Secretary)
- Dean of the School of Architecture
- One Dean representing the Deans' Council
- Executive Vice President and Provost
- Vice President & CEO of the Medical Center
- Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
- Vice President for Management and Budget
- Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer
- Director of Athletic Programs
- Representative from the Office of the President
- Chief Facilities Officer (ex-officio)
- Director of Community Relations (ex-officio)
- Director of Parking and Transportation (ex-officio)
- Director of Space and Real Estate Management (ex-officio)
- University Landscape Architect (ex-officio)
- Two Representatives from the City of Charlottesville (ex-officio)
- Director of Neighborhood Development Services
- Planning Commission Member
- Two Representatives from the County of Albemarle (ex-officio)
- Director of Planning
- Planning Commission Member
- Two at-large student members, including one undergraduate and one graduate
