4 Star Camps: provides opportunities for children, ages 7-18, to enhance their performance in academics, golf, and tennis. . Camps are located at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA.
iD Tech Camps: offers summer computer camps for kids and teens at 50 universities in the United States and Spain. In Virginia, U.Va. and William & Mary offer summer camps.
Migrant Aid: a program offered by The Madison House that provides services to the migrant community, including homework assistance to children.
SCPS Programs: U.Va.'s School of Continuing and Professional Studies provides programs to support K-12 education.
Art Museum Activities for Kids & Families: The U.Va. Art Museum offers a variety of programs for young artists and their families/caregivers, including Family Art JAMS, Kid's College, Summer Arts, Writer's Eye, and Spring into Art.
Children's Programs in Aboriginal Art: sponsored by the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Museum of the University of Virginia, which also offers school and private group tours.
Family Art JAMS: Hands-on activities for young artists, ages 4–12, and their families/caregivers. Intergenerational experiences are encouraged.
Early Visions: an educational series offered by the U.Va. Art Museum in which at-risk high school students are mentored by U.Va. students through weekly tours and art projects.
Kid's College: Where children of U.Va. alumni can be introduced to the U.Va. Art Museum and participate in hands-on activities designed to illuminate the visual arts; offered in June and presented in association with the Alumni Association.
Spring into Art, U.Va. Art Museum A Saturday morning art program for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students and their parents/ caregivers.
Summer Arts, U.Va. Art Museum: Summer Arts @ the Museum provides an environment that encourages young artists to explore and create Art.
College Admissions Workshops: The U.Va. Office of Admission offers free college essay writing and financial aid information workshops to under-represented high school students and their parents.
Engineering Pre-college Program: Introduction to Engineering (ITE) program informs high school students about general requirements and demands of studies in engineering at U.Va.
Upward Bound Program: U.Va. assists college-bound high school students in developing the skills required to graduate from college.
Engineering, Explorations in: Introduces students to the world of engineering, including the role of engineers in modern society, an overview of the various fields of engineering, and modern methods used by engineers to solve problems and meet new challenges.
Science Camp, Bernard Harris Summer: The ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp is a free, academic program of the Harris Foundation that helps to educate middle school, high school, and college students in the disciplines of science, mathematics, and engineering.
SEAS Outreach to K-12: Engineering faculty and students enjoy sharing their interest in engineering, especially with students in middle and high schools, through open houses, class projects, competitions, virtual labs, teaching kits, exhibits, and more.
Child Development Center: helps to enrich the quality of family life by providing peace of mind to parents and enriching the life experiences of children.
Law Student Advocacy for Children: Students represent children involved in legal issues in the areas of education, foster care and social services, mental health and developmental disabilities, and laws governing services to children who have been found delinquent.

Safe Kids HEATline: Call 243-7207 or toll free 1-866-268-1472 during the summer months to get information regarding heat and relative humidity, guidelines to prevent hydration and suggestions for appropriate activity level and sportswear for kids in the Albemarle area.
Walk-For-Kids: a "fun" raising event that benefits area children and their families.
High School Leaders Program: The Sorensen Institute for Political Leaders offers concentrated study in Virginia politics and government for high school students from across the Commonwealth.
Youth Leadership Initiative: a program offered by the University of Virginia Center for Politics, reaching out to schools and young people and seeking to stimulate interest and participation in the electoral process.
Book Buddies: co-led by a professor in the Curry School of Education; a reading tutorial program for first and second grade students.
McGuffey Reading Center: an organization within the Curry School of Education that offers diagnostic and remedial services in reading, writing, and spelling.
Writer's Eye Program: an annual writing competition (of prose or poetry) organized by the U.Va. Art Museum and open to area students from grades 3 to 12.
Big Sibling Program: sponsored by The Madison House; seeks to develop long-term relationships between U.Va. student volunteers and children in Central Virginia.
Chamber Music Festival, Summer: an intensive five-day chamber music workshop during the summer. Open to college and high school students, advanced middle school students, and adult amateurs.
Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra: "Young People's Concert" introduces children to the experience of attending a live orchestral performance; other programs conducted to include the participation of young musicians.
Marching Band Summer Camp: for high school drum majors, student leaders, color guard members, marching percussionists, middle school concert band students, and aspiring feature twirlers. Sponsored by the Cavalier Marching Band.
School Field Trips to Blandy Experimental Farm: Topics include: It's For the Birds, Snake Savvy, Let's Sprout, Trees N Me, Scoop on Soils, Flower Functions, Worms!, Arbor Sleuth, Discover Diversity, Rocks Talk, Virginia Natives, and Science Explorations.
Science Fair Mentoring Project: provides guidance for children at the elementary, middle and high school levels in completing a Science Fair project.

Summer Tennis Children, ages 5-17, learn how to play a lifetime sport.
Swimming Lessons, Private for youth and adults! Instructors help students meet their swimming goals with private swim lessons.
Swimming's Cool Program for ages 6 months through age 12. The purpose of this program is to help children learn to be safe in the water by teaching basic aquatic skills.
Youth Recreation Instruction: U.Va. offers sports instruction for the youth. Intramural-Recreational Sports membership is not required.
