Art Museum Activities for Kids & Families: The U.Va. Art Museum offers a variety of programs for young artists and their families/caregivers, including Family Art JAMS, Kid's College, Summer Arts, Writer's Eye, and Spring into Art.
Children's Programs in Aboriginal Art: sponsored by the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Museum of the University of Virginia, which also offers school and private group tours.
Community Scholar Program: an opportunity for exceptional high school and home school students at the junior or senior level (minimum age 16) with a 3.00 GPA to take one on-Grounds credit course per semester at U.Va.
Engineering Pre-college Program: Introduction to Engineering (ITE) program informs high school students about general requirements and demands of studies in engineering at U.Va.
Family Art JAMS: Hands-on activities for young artists, ages 4–12, and their families/caregivers. Intergenerational experiences are encouraged.
High School Leaders Program: The Sorensen Institute offers concentrated study in Virginia politics and government for high school students from across the Commonwealth.
Kid's College: Where children of U.Va. alumni can be introduced to the U.Va. Art Museum and participate in hands-on activities designed to illuminate the visual arts; offered in June and presented in association with the Alumni Association.
Robotics Systems Design Camp: At camp explore the amazing impacts that systems engineering has on people in the world. Do this through designing and building robots, learning key systems concepts such as finding the shortest path through a network and seeing how researchers are using natural systems as inspiration for solving problems that we all face in our daily lives.
School Field Trips to Blandy Experimental Farm: Topics include: It's For the Birds, Snake Savvy, Let's Sprout, Trees N Me, Scoop on Soils, Flower Functions, Worms!, Arbor Sleuth, Discover Diversity, Rocks Talk, Virginia Natives, and Science Explorations.
SEAS Outreach to K-12: Engineering faculty and students enjoy sharing their interest in engineering, especially with students in middle and high schools, through open houses, class projects, competitions, virtual labs, teaching kits, exhibits, and more.
Spring into Art, U.Va. Art Museum A Saturday morning art program for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students and their parents/ caregivers.
Summer Arts, U.Va. Art Museum: The Museum’s annual arts academy for rising 4th– 12th graders that combines high-quality studio programs with explorations of the Museum’s summer shows.
Writer's Eye Program: an annual writing competition (of prose or poetry) organized by the U.Va. Art Museum and open to area students from grades 3 to 12.
