These offenses are compiled as required in the provisions of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

* Many larcenies from dorm rooms have been reclassified, according to Clery standards. They now appear as burglaries.
* Arson numbers are down considerably, due to the 2005 arrest and prosecution of an area serial arsonist.
* Alcohol arrests are down considerably, due in part to the fact that many are made during joint patrol with the City of Charlottesville in areas not immediately adjacent to campus.
