This chart includes offenses that were reported to law enforcement agencies other than the University of Virginia Police Department and to officials of the University of Virginia, designated with significant responsibilities for student and campus activities.  These offenses are compiled as required in the provisions of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

*  Many larcenies from dorm rooms have been reclassified, according to Clery standards.  They now appear as burglaries.
*  Arson numbers are down considerably, due to the 2005 arrest and prosecution of an area serial arsonist.
*  Alcohol arrests are down considerably, due in part to the fact that many are made during joint patrol with the City of Charlottesville in areas not immediately adjacent to campus.
