These notices provide the public with
information on criminal incidents on or around UVA grounds. By
informing the public, we hope new information, possible leads,
and/ or witnesses may be produced which will enable us to solve
a case. Special precautions and press releases may also be listed.

On April 24, 2004 an unidentified
suspect removed a screen from a window on the West Lawn. The suspect
then attempted to enter through the window when the resident was
awakened, confronting the suspect. The suspect fled the area in
an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a white male.
He is approximately 20 years old. The unidentified suspect is
approximately 6’ tall. At the time of the incident he was
wearing a white ball cap and an orange or yellow t-shirt.
After responding to the above mentioned
Breaking and Entering, University Police canvassed the Lawn area
for similar incidents. Police found a second room where the screen
was removed but no entry into the room was gained.
2. In
May 2004, University Police charged a University of Virginia student
with making a bomb threat. The student was charged with Virginia
Code section 18.2-83 which is a class 5 felony.
3. Assault- REWARD!
$22,000: (Posted 3-14-03)- On February 26, 2003 at about
1:56 a.m. a UVa student was assaulted on Poe Alley located near
"The Lawn" on our campus. The suspect was described
as a heavy set white male, wearing a dark jacket, light pants,
and a dark baseball cap. This reward is offered to anyone who
has information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the
offender in this incident.
