PUBLIC LASER PRINTERS: Laptop Printing - MAC OS X Leopard

PCS Public Printing from Macintosh OS X Leopard

These instructions explain how to set up your Macintosh computer (running OS X 10.5.x or later) for printing to most PCS Public Printer locations.

Setting Up Printers

Visit the PCS Public Printer List for a complete list of the public printers and make a note of the Location, Print Server IP Address, Queue/Printer Name and Printer Model that you wish to use. You will need this information to properly add the printer to your "Printer List".

Adding A Printer

1. Click on the Apple menu.

2. Click on System Preferences.

3. Click on Print & Fax.

4. Click the + symbol to add a printer.

5. Make sure the IP button is selected. Choose Line Printer Daemon - LPD

6. In the Address box, enter the Print Server IP Address of your chosen printer.

7. In the Queue and Name boxes, enter the Queue/Printer name of your chosen printer.

8. In the Location box, enter the Location of your chosen printer.

9. In the Print Using box, select Generic Postscript Printer.

10. Click Add. The printer is now installed.
