Cultural & Recreational Activities
An integral part of the program is the knowledge of the country and its culture through direct contacts with the Spanish people and through several planned trips.
There are two all-inclusive planned daytrips per session and several optional weekend trips.
Short day trips will take you around Valencia and its surroundings and will be selected from:
Peñíscola, Sagunto, Xàtiva and Gandía/Monasterio de Valldigna
Optional Overnight Weekend Trips
Madrid, government seat since the 16th century
This optional weekend trip allows you to enjoy the old section of the city: “Puerta del Sol”, “Plaza Mayor”, “el Rastro” on a Sunday morning. Downtown Madrid: “Gran Vía” with all its sidewalk cafés, shops, theatres and movies, “Puerta de Alcalá”, “la Castellana”, “el Retiro”. Museums: “Museo del Prado”, “Centro de Arte Reina Sofía”, “Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza”, “Palacio Real”.
Granada
Granada will delight you with the Moorish atmosphere of Spain ’s Middle Ages. “La Alhambra ”, “El Generalife”, “el Albaicín”, will help you understand Washington Irving’s inspiration with the city.
Barcelona
Barcelona will introduce you to Spain’s second largest city and all its very special facets: “Las Ramblas”, “el Barrio Gótico”, as well as art and architecture that have always distinguished this city as being ahead of its time.
