Babatunde Lawal
Consultant and visiting lecturer in the history of the arts of Africa and the Atlantic diaspora.  Lawal earned his PhD in Art History and African Art at Indiana University (1970), was Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ife (Nigeria), and currently teaches at Virginia Commonwealth University.  He has consulted widely on museum exhibitions of the arts of Africa and has published extensively.  He was a very successful visiting presenter at the 2008 ROOTS seminar.
