Palladian Villas, Italy:Trip Itinerary
Saturday 27th June
After checking into the hotel we visited the Teatro Olimpico, Church of Santa Maria dei Servi, Palazzo di Thiene (exterior only), and Palazzo Barbaran da Porto. Later in the evening we had a welcome drink and dinner, with an introductory talk.
Overnight: Hotel Campo Marzio, Vicenza
Sunday 28th June
In the morning we travelled to Il Castello di Thiene. In the afternoon we visited two of Palladio’s villas to the north of the city - the Villa Godi, enjoying a dominant position in the landscape and the Villa Piovene.

Monday 29th June
In the morning we walked to Valmarana ai Nani. We continued to the renowned Villa La Rotonda, set on the crest of a hill. In the afternoon we wandered through Vicenza on foot, to view a range of Palladio's work, including the Basilica (exterior only), Palazzo Capitaniato (exterior only), Palazzo Chiericati, Palazzo Valmarana Braga Rosa, and to the Cathedral to see Palladio's cupola.

Tuesday 30th June
We toured the Villa Emo at Fanzolo and the Villa Barbaro at Maser.

Wednesday 1st July
On this day we traveled to Venice, stopping en route at the Villa Cornaro at Piombino Dese. In the afternoon, we visited the Villa Foscari (La Malcontenta), one of Palladio’s best known and most beautiful works. Once in Venice, we attended an Andrea Bocelli concert at Piazza San Marco.
Overnight: Hotel Bonvecchiati, Venice
Thursday 2nd July
On foot and by vaporetto (water bus), we explored the Venice of Palladio, visiting the churches of Santa Maria della Carita, San Giorgio Maggiore, and Il Redentore.

Friday 3rd July
Before departure, we visited the Church of San Francesco della Vigna.
