Yoke San L. Reynolds was named Vice President for Finance at the University of Virginia in May 2001. Her title was changed to Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 2005. She serves as the University's chief business officer, and oversees U.Va.'s financial administration, research administration, treasury management, business operations, risk management, and business analysis. In addition, she has a leadership role in the University-wide compliance and policy program, and the financial aspects of institutional planning. She is also responsible for administration of the University's relationship with its twenty-five related foundations.

Reynolds' background in higher education financial administration includes ten years at Cornell University and six years at the State University of New York at Albany. At SUNY-Albany, she began in 1986 as Assistant to the Vice President for Finance and Business, then was promoted to Assistant Vice President for University Advancement and Controller of the Albany Foundation. In 1989 she was appointed Assistant Vice President for Financial Management and Director of the Budget. Cornell University recruited Reynolds in 1991 to be University Controller, and over the next nine years she was promoted to Associate Vice President and subsequently Vice President for Financial Affairs.

Prior to her career in higher education, Reynolds held positions as financial analyst for a local government agency, accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, and as budget analyst and deputy comptroller for a Naval Reserve Readiness Command, where she received the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award.

A Certified Public Accountant, Reynolds received master's degrees in economics from the University of Michigan, and in accounting from the business school at SUNY-Albany. She was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honors society. Her undergraduate degree in economics was earned at the University of Singapore, and she holds an external diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

She has served on the boards of the Council on Governmental Relations, the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers, of which she is a past President.  She is past chair of the National Association of College and University Business Officers' (NACUBO) Accounting Principles Council, and of the subcommittee on Managerial Analysis and Decision Support. She was a member of NACUBO's ad hoc Committee on the Cost of Education. She currently serves on the board of Fielding Graduate University and on the finance committee of the College Board. In 2009 she received the Distinguished Business Officer award from NACUBO.

Reynolds has been active in community affairs, serving on the boards of the League of Women Voters of Schenectady County (NY), the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County (NY), WSKG of Binghamton, and the Cayuga Medical Center. In Virginia she served on the board of trustees of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was president of the Piedmont Chinese Association in 2009.
