Quick Guide for Researchers

As a researcher, you are likely interested in submitting a protocol to our office. The best place to start is by reviewing our Submitting a Protocol section, finding the right forms in our Forms section, and obtaining your human subjects certification in our CITI section. You may want to check our Events section for information about IRB-SBS full board meetings and deadlines, as well as other educational events.  If you have already submitted a protocol, check out the Maintaining a Protocol section for information about modifications, continuation requests, etc. If you have questions about developing an IRB-compliant research study, our Researchers Guide will have those answers (and if you can’t find an answer there, make sure to contact us with your questions as our staff is ready to help). The Understanding Risk in Research, Data Collection, Consent Process, and Vulnerable and Risk Sensitive Participants are sections that address scenarios common in most IRB-SBS studies. The federal regulations and ethical guidance documents are only a few of the items posted in our Resources section. In addition, check out the additional links below with information specific to our frequently submitting researchers.
