Grant Approval
All grant applications for outside funding that involve human subject research must be reviewed and approved by the IRB-SBS before the award can be accepted. A grant approval is a preliminary approval given by the IRB-SBS so that a researcher can proceed with grant application and awarding processes. The grant approval DOES NOT allow the researcher to proceed with the human subject portion of their research; the researcher MUST submit a full protocol in order to recruit human subjects into their study. If you are not applying for a grant or if the research study does not require IRB-SBS approval, you do not need to submit the grant approval form.
