Partnerships for
Innovation (PFI) is a National Science Foundation
(NSF) program that promotes innovation by bringing
together colleges and universities, state and local
governments, private sector firms, and nonprofit
organizations. These organizations form
partnerships that support innovation in their
communities by developing the people, tools, and
infrastructure needed to connect new scientific
discoveries to practical uses.
NSF hosted its second PFI Grantee Workshop in
2010. The workshop was held at the Westin
Arlington Gateway hotel in Arlington, Virginia, a
few blocks from the NSF facilities in Ballston.
All active PFI awardees were required to attend,
including the PI, one non-academic collaborator, and
one student on each award.

The final meeting agenda, speaker biographies, and
slideshows are posted here.
In addition, a list of active PFI awardees who
attended the meeting is available
