ACUC Welcomes New Chair The University of Virginia’s Animal Care Use Committee (ACUC) is pleased to announce the appointment of William (Bill) Sutherland, Ph.D., as our new Chair. This three year appointment is effective July 1, 2006 and continues until June 30, 2009. Dr. Sutherland received his Ph.D. in developmental biology from U.Va. in 1977. Since then he has held a variety of research-focused positions at U.Va. within the School of Medicine. He is currently a Professor of Research in the Department of Cell Biology. We are honored to have him as our Chair and look forward to his leadership and insight. Satellite Clinics Offered The ACUC is pleased to announce that it will be offering two satellite clinics per month for employees to obtain their annual animal handler occupational health assessments.
