As part of the approved Board of Visitors Research Enhancement Program, the accelerated construction of new, state-of-the-art research facilities which can accommodate targeted scholarly activity and which will serve to attract/retain prominent faculty members is underway.
The Sheridan G. Snyder Translational Research Building was completed in spring 2008. The building will facilitate scientific themes that span multiple departments, and which are among the University’s most prominent and promising research focus areas.
The Carter-Harrison Research Building is a new medical science building for researchers in cancer, immunology, vaccine therapy, and infectious diseases. The building will include 102,000 net square feet of research space and is set for completion in June of 2010.
In addition, construction on Wildsdorf Hall was recently in November 2006. This five-story, School of Engineering and Applied Science building was designed to foster collaborative research in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, and nanotechnology. READ MORE |
