Subject: Immunization Clinic – Flu Fest

You can protect yourself against several serious health threats by taking advantage of the immunization clinic offered by the Department of Student Health in cooperation with Intravene, our program partner. We understand there will be plenty of vaccine this year.

The University of Virginia strongly encourages you to get immunized against Influenza, Meningitis and Hepatitis B (an immunization for Meningitis is required of all undergraduates). In addition, the required vaccines for MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Tetanus, Tetanus & Pertussis (Tdap), Twinrix (combination Hepatitis A & B) and Hepatitis A will be available so that you will not be blocked from registration for spring semester if you have not completed these required vaccinations.

Please note, you will need to know what “pre-entrance” vaccines are required of you. You should have been notified previously by Student Health; however, if you need further information, please call medical records at 924-1525. Tuberculosis risk assessments will be available on a limited basis. PPD tuberculosis skin testing will be available only at Student Health on weekdays (with the exception of Thursdays).

FLU FEST will take place:
Date: November 1, 2006
Where: Newcomb Hall Ballroom, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Costs: Payable at time of service by cash, check, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover)
Chickering insurance will be accepted

Costs for vaccines are as follows: Influenza, $25; Meningitis, $110; Hepatitis B $70 (per dose), 3 required; MMR $45; Tetanus $30; Tdap $50, Twinrix $110 (per dose), 3 required ; Hepatitis A $70 (per dose), 2 required.
