Thinking Ahead to May?
The spring semester typically flies by, and before long the University will
be joining in Final Exercises, set for the weekend of May 19-20, 2007.
General information about the weekend is available
online. As
new information about the weekend becomes available, the site will be
updated, so be sure you check back often. Details on parking, seating,
degree ceremonies, regalia rental - all this and more will be posted on the
site.
If you need lodging for the weekend and have not yet made reservations, you
will want to do that as soon as possible. For information on area hotels and
room availability, contact the
Charlottesville/Albemarle
County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 434/293-6789 or
877/386-1102. The University also maintains a list of local hotels
online.
In addition, the Conference Services office at U.Va. makes student suites
available to families of graduates. Up to 10 persons can stay in one suite.
The rooms are located in the Alderman Road Residence Area. Conference
Services is still finalizing cost and other details for this May, but if you
are interested in being placed on a waiting list to receive more
information, please contact the office by
e-mail or by
telephone at 434/924-4479. Once information becomes available, it will be
posted on the Web.
