Subject: Date of Family Weekend, Graduation Reminder

Dear U.Va. Parents and Family Members:

The University has announced that this year's Family Weekend will take place October 26-28, 2007. Please make plans to join us for this special weekend devoted to students, their parents, and family members. More details will be available on the Family Weekend Web site in the near future.

Since hotels fill up quickly for this weekend, it is advisable to make lodging reservations as early as possible. You can find a list of University and area hotels at:http://www.virginia.edu/placestostay.html

Special reminder to parents of graduating students:

Finals Weekend will take place May 19-20, 2007. Best-selling novelist John Grisham will speak during the Finals Exercises ceremony on the Lawn on Sunday at 10 a.m.

As new information about the weekend becomes available, the site will be updated, so be sure you check back often. Details on parking, seating, degree ceremonies, regalia rental - all this and more will be posted on the site.

If you have not finalized your lodging reservations for Finals Weekend, one potential option is to stay on Grounds in the Alderman Road Residence Area. U.Va. Conference Services makes suite-style rooms available for families and friends of graduating students from Friday, May 18, until Monday, May 21. All graduating students, including those in professional schools, may take advantage of this service. The offer includes a two-night package for $120 per person, with a free third night.
