Re: Family Weekend

Dear Parents and Family Members:

The date for Family Weekend has just been announced. Please mark your calendar for Oct. 26-28, 2012.

Fall Convocation, the official start of Family Weekend, will take place on Friday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. in John Paul Jones Arena. This event includes the awarding of Intermediate Honors to third-year students who have achieved academic distinction in their first four semesters of study. The Third-Year Ring Ceremony, a U.Va. tradition that has become a favorite of both students and parents, will take place on Friday afternoon after Fall Convocation.

Since accommodations always book quickly for this weekend, you are encouraged to make a reservation as soon as possible. You can find a list of Charlottesville-area places to stay at http://www.virginia.edu/placestostay.html.

The Family Weekend website will provide complete details about the weekend. Please check it frequently for updates closer to Oct. 26.
