Re: Important Information Required of All Students

Dear Students:

Beginning this week, the University needs to collect from you four types of information that are critical for communication and safety: tax dependency status, arrest or conviction history, local address, and emergency contact information. It is essential that you report current and accurate information. If you reside in University housing, the University will rely on your emergency contact information if you are reported missing for more than 24 hours.

This is an automated and rolling collection process. Within the next few days, you will see a prompt when you log in to NetBadge. After receiving this prompt, you will have approximately two weeks to enter all the necessary information. You will see a "due date" reminder in the prompt, and each screen will include instructions on how to enter the requested information. Failure to meet your deadline will result in a block to NetBadge-protected services, including University e-mail and Collab.

An Important Note:  Failure to enter the requested information will not immediately affect your ability to add or drop courses or perform any other functions in SIS. This process is independent of any enrollment blocks that you may have on your record due to financial, academic, or Student Health holds. Should you encounter an enrollment block, please contact the appropriate office to resolve the issue.

If you have technical difficulties when entering your information, please call the ITS Help Desk at 434-924-HELP (4357). If you believe you may have arrest or conviction history information to report, please first consult the information posted here:

We appreciate your cooperation. Best wishes for a good start to the academic year.

Sincerely,
Allen Groves
