ITC Assistive Technology Resources

 

Information Technology and Communication (ITC) provides Kurzweil software on all ITC Public Lab computers across Grounds, including Alderman and Clemons Libraries. The public scanning workstations include the appropriate version to scan documents directly in Kurzweil. 

 

A workstation for individuals needing software with voice output/input is located in Clemons 102. In addition to the standard software titles included on the ITC lab machines, this machine also includes JAWS and Dragon Naturally Speaking. To utilize this room, you need to check out the key from the circulation desk.

 

On the second floor of Clemons Library, a workspace is available for those individuals needing magnification of documents. A workstation with Kurzweil and ZoomText coupled with a Desktop Video Magnifier are available for use by anyone benefitting from these devices. This workspace is not locked and is available all times the library is open.

 

In collaboration with the University Libraries and LNEC, this fall ITC will place Desktop Video Magnifiers in the following libraries: (Tentative locations - final locations TBD.) Brown Science & Engineering, Alderman, Clemons, and Fine Arts. Pocket Viewers will also be available available for checkout at the circulation desk in the  following libraries for use within the library(Tentative locations - final locations TBD.); Clemons, Alderman, Brown, Curry, Fine Arts, and Music.
