Orientation Advisory Committee

Charge:

This committee is charged with conducting a review of summer and fall orientation, additional Orientation-sponsored first-year initiatives (such as First-Year Seminar), and the overall structure of the transition for new students (both first-year and transfer) into the University environment. It will be particularly important to review the ways in which students are introduced to the academic programs of the University and the collateral programming that supports this academic introduction, as well as the ways Orientation supports first-year objectives in Residence Life and other units. The committee is charged with making specific recommendations for changes or additions to the existing programs and structure, as well as serving as an ongoing oversight/review committee for future programmatic and structural decision-making with the goal of ensuring that academic and university service information is comprehensive, accurate and in line with University priorities.
