Zehmer Hall is home to the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, offering University courses and programs through which students can earn graduate degrees, certificates, professional relicensure, and the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree. Architects W. E. Stainback (Col '28), and Louie L. Scribner (Col '29) designed this building, built in 1959 to house the American Red Cross Training Center. It was remodeled in the early 1970s for University use and is named for George B. Zehmer, who was director of the Extension Division, dean of the summer session, and director of the Institute of Public Affairs.
