Studies in Women and Gender is an interdisciplinary program in which students study gender relations with an emphasis on transnational perspectives.By examining social issues, literary texts, media, technologies, and historical materials, students develop a critical, socially engaged sense of how gender shapes and is shaped by the world around them. Topics range from women’s political participation to the history of sexuality, women writers, theories of race, class, gender, and nation, gendered inequalities, masculinities, body politics, gender and music, women and money, feminist environmentalism, and gender and technology, to name but a few.
